Loved and respected father and father-in-law of Bev and Peter Davies; Lionel and Janice; Mike and Ally; Kev and Trish; and Raewyn and Dave Curtis. Loved Pop to all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A service for Doug will be held at the Apaprangi Rest Home on Wednesday 19 June 2019 at 11 am and this will be followed by another service at The Lychway Chapel, 5 Roy Street, Palmerston North on Friday 21 June 2019 at 11.00am. On 6th June 2019 after a courageous battle. Dearly loved husband of Val (née Hunt). Passed away peacefully on Saturday, 8 June 2019, at the Radius Peppertree Rest Home, Palmerston North, in her 101st year. Loved wife of the late Doug. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Brian & Sue, Bruce & Jo, and Peter & Sharryn. Much loved Nana Joan to James, Jennifer, Thomas, Matthew, Rebekah, Bevan & Courtney, and great-grandmother to her seven great-grandchildren. A big sister to Max, and a very special friend to many. A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at The Lychway Chapel, 5 Roy St, Palmerston North, on Friday, 14 June 2019, at 1.30pm, followed by interment at Kelvin Grove Cemetery. On Wednesday, June 5th, 2019, Maryanne King, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, extended family and friends peacefully passed away at her home after a long illness. Maryanne, will be forever remembered by her children and partners, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whom she adored. She will also be remembered by extended family and dear friends. Maryanne will always be fondly remembered for the kindness she had for others. Her love for family, church and the community showed through in her hospitality, opening her home and spending many hours cooking. People always knew they were welcome at her home for a meal in a warm place. A celebration of Maryanne’s life will be held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 257 Ferguson Street, Palmerston North, on June 10th, 2019, at 10.00am, followed by interment at the Kelvin Grove Cemetery, James Line, Palmerston North. Devoted Poppa to his seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Manawatu representative sportsman in many codes. Past President and Life Member of the Palmerston North Golf Club. Eric’s family especially thank the Julia Wallace staff who cared for him and family and friends who visited in his last few weeks. Sister of Mac (dec), Chris, Faith, Lesley (dec), Kitten, Tommy, Karen, Rosana, David, and Lee. Treasured mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and aunty to all her nieces and nephews. Esteemed friend and colleague to many.
She was a special, positive, precious, well loved and respected woman to us all.
