Of Palmerston North. Passed away peacefully on Friday 24th December 2021. Eldest son of Joe Wai (deceased) and Yuen Hing Wai (deceased) of Palmerston North. Dearly loved husband of Ngan Kiu (Gill) Wai (deceased). Much loved father and father-in-law of Donald & Kuljira, Debbie & Tony, Darren & Maureen, Dennis & Catherine, Donna & Kevin, Diana & Murray, Darryl & Louise, Denise & Adam. He was an adored Goong Goong and Yeh Yeh to 17 grandchildren. A private family service has been held according to Don Mun’s wishes. Much loved mother of Leslie, Julianne, Lise, Tony and Deborah Rasmussen, mother-in-law of Janine and Naomi, nana of Paul, Katrina, Daniel, Dana and Alex, and great-grandmother of Ollie, Arielle, and Isak Rasmussen. Passed away peacefully at Elmwood House, Napier, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday 20 December 2021, aged 91 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Vita and the late Jo. Much loved Dad of Rob and Marilyn, loved father-in-law of Vicki and Sean. Loved and respected grandad to Clint, Melanie, Aaron, Scott, Kelsey, Jack and Cameron. Great-grandad to many. A service for Skip will be held at The Lychway Chapel, 5 Roy Street, Palmerston North, on Thursday 30 December 2021 at 2.00pm. You will need your vaccine pass to attend. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Alzheimer’s Society Manawatu would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Skip’s family extends their heartfelt thanks for the compassionate care given to him by the Elmwood House staff.

NIXEY, Brent Paul:
Passed away on Thursday 23rd December 2021 at Arohanui Hospice. Aged 57 years. Very loved husband of Amanda, and Dad of Matthew (Matt) and Kelly. Very loved Grumpy (Grandad) of April and Joseph. Brother of Karen, Robyn, and Lynne. Brother-in-law of Dean, Paul, and Phil. Uncle to all his wonderful nephews and nieces. A funeral for Brent will be held at Linton Military Camp, on Friday 31st December 2021 at 11.00am. You will need your vaccine pass to attend the service.

HEWALD, Vilma Rae:
Passed away peacefully at her home on 21 December 2021, in her 93rd year. Cherished wife of the late Bob. Treasured mother and mother-in-law to Keitha and Graham (Nelson), Grant and Jo (Melbourne), Nana to Megan, Bevan, Sarah, Michelle and the late Paul, and Great-Nan for Liam, Aislinn, Louis and Sylvie. A Requiem Mass for Vilma will be held at St Brigid’s Church, 27 Wakeman Street, Pahiatua, on Thursday 30 December 2021 at 11.00am, followed by interment at Mangatainoka Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Pahiatua St John’s Ambulance building fund would be much appreciated. Messages to 89 Panorama Drive, Nelson.

Passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on 21st December 2021, in Palmerston North. 100 years young. Beloved wife of John (dec). Much loved Auntie Tuppy of Margaret, Kathleen, Warren, Janet, Ian and Ross. Fondly remembered by their families, and her many friends. A Funeral will held at the Central Baptist Church, 190 Church St, Palmerston North. at 10.30am, on 23rd December 2021, thereafter interment at Kelvin Grove Cemetery.

Passed away on Monday 6th December 2021 at Woodfall Home and Hospital, aged 84 years. Dearly loved companion of 31 years to Kathleen Harris. Stepfather of Sharon, Faye, Martin and poppa for Kathleen’s grandchildren.
