YORK, Marilyn Joan:
Marilyn passed away peacefully at Palmerston Manor Rest Home, on 21 November 2020, aged 67 years. Beloved wife of the late David Thomas, David Carroll and Melvyn York, mother to Kim and Eskerina, Nana to Rachael and Cateline, daughter of William and Elsie Perfect, and sister to Elaine, Cheryl, Ray and Ann. Marilyn was also a cherished aunty, sister-in-law and friend. Marilyn spent the most of her life in the Manawatu, in the early days on the farm, then on to travel the country before settling down and starting a family. Special thanks to the Palmerston Manor staff who cared for Marilyn so well throughout her years there. A private service was held on Monday 23 November, with Elvis playing softly in the background as many treasured memories of Marilyn were shared amongst the small group gathered. RICKARD, Keith John:

Lifetime resident of Palmerston North, passed away on November 22, 2020, just short of his 94th birthday. Keith was a loving husband of Joy (deceased 2006) and father to Brian and Neal, father in-law to Judy and Heather and Grandfather to Angela, Samantha, Guy and Mitchell and great-grandfather to Eiko, Eli, Axel, Willow and Juniper; a Brother to Marjorie, Dulcie and to Donald and Kathleen (both deceased) and a special friend to Judy Rossiter. Keith’s 50 year work life included Martins Foundry, Longburn Freezing Works, PN Hospital, Brick and Pipes, Massey Agricultural College, Richardsons Drilling and Massey University (Sports Centre). His sporting life was centred on Kia Toa RFC (player, coach, life member and Patron) and Evergreens Golden Oldies, he ran with PN Harriers, the Marathon Clinic and at Masters Games. Always exercising, fit and analysing and sharing his passion with those he mentored. In accordance with his strongly held wishes there is no funeral and his ashes will join those of Joy Rickard. Our mother’s funeral service will be held at the same venue on Friday 20th November at 10.00am, followed by burial at Kelvin Grove Cemetery.
